Going through a long tunnel of zoom calls, rounds of initial sketches, call backs for editing, another round of sketches, eventually a cover design for a released single came out the other side. The artist’s desire to support the meaning, tone and mood of her song was a minimalist composition colored with a neutral palette, and a palm leaf to symbolize the echoing of a theme burrowed in her lyrics. A textured background was used in order to dimensionality to the leaf laying on top. Not only for marketing purposes but to further personalize, a scan of her own handwriting found a home within the layout to identify her title and name.
